So what happened to Natasha after she told Tony he should be the one watching his back? She just disappeared from the movie. She wasn’t in any of the denouement scenes or the credits scenes. 

I, of course, have a headcanon for that.

The obvious answer is that after she tells Tony and the Accords to fuck off, Natasha tracks down Nick Fury and Maria Hill and they talk shit about Tony and Steve.

Before having a SHIELD badasses reunion, Natasha has to relocate the Bartons so that Secretary Ross and various government agencies don’t use them as leverage against Clint and the others. Lucky for them T’Challa doesn’t hold a grudge about the tasering thing, and figures granting asylum to an innocent family is nothing compared to hiding the Winter Soldier.

T’Challa also tells Natasha and Steve where Team Cap is being kept. While it’s a bit of a stretch to think Steve broke into a secret prison in the middle of the ocean and helped break out four fugitives by himself, it’s totally reasonable that he’d be able to do it with Natasha’s help. After all, these two broke into Fort Meade, aka NSA headquarters, and it was such a non-issue that it wasn’t even shown.
