A Few More Cap3 Footage Notes

brendaonao3:

Back home now & on the laptop, so I can go into a little more detail about some of the Cap3 footage. Again, please keep in mind that I’ve been up since 4am, and I had to drive to Anaheim and back, so I’m not super coherent right now. 🙂

But, we got quite a bit of the fight scene between Crossbones and Steve, and Natasha has a kickass moment in it, as well as Wanda, and that’s when we see Falcon’s Red Wing.  This is also when Crossbones is on his knees taunting Steve with the knowledge that Bucky remembered him.

(And, just so you have some context, try to picture the utter contempt and venom in Brock’s voice as he’s on his knees with Steve getting ready to beat the shit out of him, saying, “you know he remembered you, your pal, your buddy, your Bucky“ and the LOOK on Steve’s face was just… I can’t wait for all of you to see it.  It was heartbreaking and so filled with righteous fury. This was utterly Brock getting revenge for TWS and that he’s 100% Hydra and knows how to hurt Steve where it really counts.)

We also got a big voiceover of General Thunderbolt basically praising Steve for everything he’s done and the debt that the world and country owes to Steve, while, in almost the same breath, calling him a vigilante and pretty much implying if Steve goes off the reservation, he’ll be hunted. (That’s also when they showed footage of Martin Freeman’s character, but he didn’t get any lines in the footage we saw.)  It should be noted that Steve wasn’t too impressed with Thunderbolt’s speech, and that’s when he talked about how they couldn’t save everyone.

The Tony & Steve footage was also just filled with simmering resentment and a whole lot of anger on Tony’s part.  It’s also HEAVILY implied that Tony is responsible for locking Bucky up in the glass cage – it looked a little like a smaller version of the Hulk cage, just FYI. (Although they never outright show Tony doing it, and we all know how tricky and misleading trailers can be.)

They also showed Steve as a pallbearer at Peggy’s funeral, which, just, my HEART.

The Scott fangirling Steve moment was hysterical, and it’s got my favorite Clint moment of the footage shown (he’s the one who brought Scott to Steve). Wanda was also in that scene, although the main focus was Scott all !!!! over Steve.  (It’s also implied that they’re in a ‘70s era Volkswagen Beetle, because Bucky is in the background leaning his forearms against it, so please just picture Steve and Bucky in that tiny-ass car.  We were really hoping that they’re actually in the van behind the Beetle, however, but that’s not as fun to think about.)

Bucky and Steve are fighting together in the end fight scene with the rest of Team Cap.

Sam was ALL over the footage, being awesome and acting as Steve’s right hand guy.

They showed a little more of the Ant-Man post-credit scene, with Bucky talking about remembering Steve and Steve’s mother (and again, the LOOK on Steve’s face, you guys.  YOU GUYS.)

But, for me, the moment I lost it was the small snippet they showed of Steve and Bucky going into a door or hidden building in the snow, with Steve in the Cap uniform and Bucky in the Winter Soldier uniform at his six with a sniper rifle.

Because that means Steve TRUSTS Bucky. It means they’re working together. It means we’re actually getting a post-WS scene (at least one) of the two of them on some sort of solo mission (possibly, or maybe they’re rendezvousing with the rest of Team Cap) TOGETHER. As a team. As a unit.

REUNITED.

Yeah, there may have been a lot of inner squeaking. 😀

Steve: Remember that time you dared me to lick the swing set?
Bucky: No, I said “Steve, don’t lick the swing set,” and you said “Don’t tell me what to do, Barnes.” And then you licked the swing set.

When I was a kid I thought your 20s were supposed to be fun, not filled with perpetual anxiety about financial stability and constantly feeling like an unaccomplished piece of shit.

That’s because it was fun for baby boomers and they basically gave us this impression it would always be like that, but then they ruined the economy.

“Eyes on Target folks.” Falcon launched Redwing – it’s robotic, and he can look through it! It’s Cap, Falcon, and Black Widow going after a bomber – Crossbones! Cap and Crossbones engage, while Falcon, with a massively upgraded suit, and Black Widow take out his thugs.

“This is for dropping a building on my face,” Crossbones says to Cap. “You know, he remembered you. Your pal, your buddy, your Bucky.”

“The world owes you an unpayable debt. But while a great many see you as a hero, there are those who prefer the word Vigilante. People are afraid.”

Cap says, “We try to save as many as we can, but sometimes that doesn’t mean everyone.” The follow-up to the scene from Ant-Man’s credits was shown, and Bucky recognizes Steve.

“I know we’re not perfect, but the safest hands are still ours,” Cap says. “If we have no limitations, we’re no better than the bad guys,” Iron Man says.

Black Panther revealed! The only actual fight was between Black Widow and Hawkeye, but the others were shown charging at each other..

After, they showed Ant-Man being brought in. “Captain America! It’s an honor. I’m shaking your hand too long. You’re really great. I know you know a lot of super people, so thinks for thanking of me. Thanks for thinking of me.
