Pic one: hmm cool lighter grenades, it’d be cool if I could have on- ohhhh
Pic two: hmm why not? Shiny shiny explosion in my palm, gotta get it!
Pic three: Harry tho.. He won’t notice. Will he? Nah. But maybe? Nahh

But do you know what I like the most with this?
Is that in this scene Eggsy has absolutely no poker face at all. And you know you would think someone so used to ‘sleight of hand’ would have mastered keeping a straight face.
And thing is, Eggsy does have a good poker face. The scene when he kills Arthur, he keeps his poker face until the very end.
So that scene when he tries to lift the lighter? It’s like he doesn’t even really try, like he does it because it’s an impulsive ‘I want that shiny new bright thing’
And I’m really not good with meta and everything, but I think it says a lot about Eggsy relationship with Harry, that he does it more for fun than because he thinks he will really succeed. It’s not even to test Harry abilities as a spy. It feels more like a game of ‘how far will he let me go’ and they both seem comfortable in it, it’s all in good fun.

Eggsy would definitely be delighted if he managed to steal the lighter, but he’s not that disappointed when Harry calls him out on the theft.
He’s probably mostly impressed with Harry noticing he took anything tbh!
This seems like boundary testing behaviour, like you said- how far will he let me go?- how far can I push the fun and games? Stealing a hand grenade is apparently, just a mild inconvenience Harry that is not responsible!
